C5 Galaxy + Atlantis Space Shuttle+USS Ohio = Allan XII Space Ship

Oh fortune!, one of our favorite aircrafts ever the C5A Galaxy, has the perfect body size to be the perfect platform to create our next space ship.

In fact, there are two main configurations we can use for our next Alpha Allen XII Space ship.

The first one, will use the same steam cannon system the USS Ohio nuclear submarine uses to launch the trident missile to the stratosphere , but this time our powerful cargo aircraft C5A galaxy will support the trident ( in the form of mid size space shuttle) and the reaction forces preceding the launch.

The second one, will convert the C5A Galaxy into the space ship itself,instead to be the launcher vehicle. Yes, you hear well, the vast cargo compartement will be converted into a rocket ( pretty much the same size than the atlantis space shuttle) , so the entire aircraft-rocket will reach the space station ( yeah, including the aircraft turbines wich is in deed the fascinating engineering issue to solve). Just imagine a bigger Atlantis Space Shuttle with four powerful turbines taking off like a cargo aircraft ( with the rockets fuel tanks inside the cargo compartment) doing the transition to the vertical flight with the turbines and igniting the rocket in a smooth and powerful way ( while protecting the turbines somehow) and landing like a cargo aircraft ( instead like a glider) with the full turbines working and the rocket fuel tanks empty.

The beauty of our concept, the selected aircraft C5A already has the awesome nickname we were looking for: GALAXY ! is like it was born to perform the ultimate trip to the space station.

The vulcans like Mr. Allen will have the Star TreK they deserve.
